6 common network installation mistakes (and how to avoid them)
Costly mistakes: 6 common errors in home and office network installations.
1. Using low-quality cable
Cheap uncertified cables may not meet specifications. Always use certified cable.
2. Not respecting the bend radius
Cable should not be bent more than 4 times its diameter. Use smooth curves.
3. Mixing cable categories
If you install Cat6A but use a Cat5e patch cord, speed is limited to the weakest component.
4. Not certifying points
Without certification you can't know if a point works at 100%. Insist on Fluke certification.
5. Cables next to electrical lines
Keep at least 20cm of separation or use shielded cable (Cat7).
6. Not planning for scalability
Always install more points than you need today. Adding later is much more expensive.
โ Avoid these mistakes: trust a certified professional installer.
